A fresh serving of excitement with a small side of anxiety was about to be chewed up and turned into something magnificent! … The music got louder and he hit the stage with a single intention…To Serve!

On September 9th, 2011 Chris Jimenez hit the stage for the first time as MC for the Baron Mastery event “Claim Your Competitive Edge”.  Chris had quite nervously joined the Baron Mastery Speaker-Leadership training earlier that year. When Chris had started in the training he had struggled to get his head out of the way in order to have his wonderful warm heart to speak to his audience.

That being said he was not alone… Less than a month before, Chris with a number of others from the training had auditioned for this honorable opportunity, and it was close. The three runners up were Deb Cummings, Claudette Brouchard, and Trish Leptick. All had done a spectacular job, however, Chris took the prize.  This was in no way a downgrade for the runners up, you see each of them would be given the rare gift of presenting on the Baron Mastery stage at Claim Your Competitive Edge.

None of them had ever been on a platform speaking in front of an audience of this magnitude before. Each one of them had there own particular recipe for excitement and anxiety. Each one of them was able to move past the obstacles before them by holding to the central principle taught throughout our Speaker-Leadership Training…You are here to serve!

From the moment Chris began to speak the audience was both entertained and inspired. However, among other fabulous messages shared he shared there were a couple of moments where excitement became something far deeper, a heart and soul connection. The eyes of women and men alike filled as his words reached out like a gentle hand of compassion to a hungry child.

Chris spoke of  a surprise Christmas gift, a gift not available even in the most exclusive store. What he shared was not a story about tinsel, Christmas lights or any kind of fabulous designer gifts. This was a story of something far more valuable than any price tag.

As we all sat on the edge of our seats, Chris shared the impact of being a member of the Baron Mastery CORE affluence programs and the value it had brought to his life.  He spoke of being in the best shape of his life, having vastly increased his financial flow and now having more availability to his wife and children.  And then he began to speak of  the profound healing he had not even known he had needed when he entered the program.

Last Christmas Chris took his wife and children and they traveled down to California to be with his father and his fathers family. This is something Chris had done many times and as much as it was a good thing to do, there was always something missing. You see his dad had left the family when Chris was just a little boy. And as so often the case, incomplete memories and the opinions of others become a reality that chokes out the complete truth. Without knowing it this had left both men missing something neither had been able to articulate, and it had remained a secret yearning.

From the moment Chris engaged in being a CORE Affluence Member he became dedicated to his inner journey, because he immediately saw the value this system brought to his life….

Last Christmas, Chris stood face to face with his father, and even though he had done so many times, this time was different…this time he could see this man for the truth of who he is.

This time they were not just eye-to-eye, somehow they were heart-to-heart too. Whats more for the first time he felt his father seeing him for the man he is.  As the two embraced, a miracle took place, for the first time ever their armor cracked and suddenly two men who had deeply missed each other let love between them run freely.

The dam of resentment finally crumbled under the awesome force of something far more powerful; deep compassion. In that moment these two men gifted each other a transformative experience of love. For the first time ever Chris knew with every fiber of his being that his father loved and respected him… Neither man will ever be the same.

NEWS FLASH: Leaders Brain Hijacked

…Leader’s brain hijacked….
Imagine reading that headline as it scrolls across your CNN news hour. What would you think?

Maybe you would think, “This must be the work of some evil scientist or an invading alien race”.

In truth, the leader’s brain may have been hijacked by a small change in her/his environment.

Greek philosopher Heraclitus said, “Change is the only constant.”

So why do we fight so hard against it?

As someone who has spent most of my life in some form of a leadership position, I am going to give it to you straight. If you are going to step up and really be a leader, you are going to have to embrace change! However, I’ll admit there’s an important part of your brain that doesn’t like change!

Recent research shows that human brains have evolved with a strong capacity to detect what neuroscientists call “errors.”

These are not errors in the traditional way we think of errors, for instance, as mistakes: “I miscalculated, so therefore this is an error.” Errors in this context are anything that is a perceived difference between what you expected and what occurs in reality. For instance,  scientific research show that when someone is told to expect a sweet-tasting treat, but when they put it into their mouth and discover that it tastes salty or bitter, their brain goes crazy.

The brain produces intense bursts of neural firing that are markedly stronger than the firing caused by familiar stimuli. A study run by Dr. Edmund Rolls of Oxford University found that the “errors” that produce these intense bursts of neural firing are generated by a part of the brain called the orbital frontal cortex.

Now you may be thinking, “What’s that, and why should I care?”

Well, if you want greater levels of success, you will want to turn up the brightness in your eyes and here’s why.

The orbital frontal cortex is the part of the brain that is closely connected to the brain’s fear circuitry. Neuroscientific errors (or incorrect assessments) evoke a fear response in your brain!

The fear circuitry is housed in a structure called the amygdala, and the amygdala is the source of that sudden and overwhelming fear or anger response that can come up when we are faced with change. The kind of response where you might later say, “I have no idea what came over me.” This is your brain on fear!

These parts of your brain are among the oldest parts of the mammal brain. What’s important about that is that when they are activated, they draw energy away from the prefrontal region of the brain, which is the section said to promote and support higher intellectual functions.

So what does all that have to do with you and your ability to reach higher level of leadership and success?

Well my friend, change by its very nature is outside of the familiar.  Therefore change, even if it is for the better is going to be firing off those “error detection signals.”

These signals invariably push the individual to become emotional and to act more impulsively.

Most often, the result is fear and anger in the face of change. When you observe such a response, you may have the sense that the individual’s brain has been hijacked and some kind of animal instincts have taken over.

As I started out saying– If you are going to step up and really be a leader, you are going to have to embrace change!

You will never reach that higher level of success while allowing your brain to run error messages every time a new opportunity shows up.

The media are telling us: “Home sales slowed further following an initial drop after the expiration of the home buyer tax credit at the end of June, prompting a slowdown in construction activity.”

An official US unemployment rate that hit 10% last year, and seems set to stay there or thereabouts for months yet, already makes grim reading.

Yet there’s growing concern that even that large and unpleasant number doesn’t do justice to the size and severity of America’s problem with jobs, or the lack thereof.

The manufacturing sector also saw growth slowing in several districts across the US, the Fed said. And if the US sneezes, Canada gets the flu…

Okay, we all know the bubble has burst and what clear once again is: When they told you to get a good job and everything would be great…They Lied!

So what does all this really mean?

In my opinion:

‘Do Not Go Looking For Another Job!

The days of believing that there is such a thing as a steady job are gone…

Instead: Believe it or not, you can now build a life doing the exciting, mind-expanding, joy-creating activities you were born to do. I know because I have a lot of my clients, students and friends who have just that!

Believe me, Ill bet there’s a good chance that you didn’t grow up in a ghetto. And for those of you who did… when you got out, did you fall 10+ stories onto your face? Nah,  Didn’t think so.

Both of those things were as you can imagine massively repressive and I only recommend going through them if you need as big a wake-up call,  as I did…

The Real Cost of Doing Business

Both Business Leaders and Small Business Owners alike are asking that same question.

I’ve been in business a long time, maybe longer than some of my readers have been on the planet.

In that time, as you can probably imagine, I’ve been asked many times about the cost of doing business. It seems that people want to know because they want to know if they can afford it.

It’s a good question: What does it cost to be in business?

Obviously there is the cost of the property you operate out of, (although many folks do business from home these days).  There’s the obvious cost of staffing, although with remote workers many of those costs can be reduced. Then there are fixed costs such as electricity, phone line, internet connection and rent, (even if you operate out of home).

But those aren’t the real costs. Bear with me, because I’m going to share with you the real cost of doing business in this new economy in a moment.

In a few weeks I will be with a great group of teachers sharing our knowledge, insights and strategies so that you can create Quantum Wealthy Mastery in your life. I’m not going to go into details about the event here; there’s no sales job in this article. (In fact it may even put some people off the idea of going into business.)

You can simply Click Here if you want more info. What I will tell you is that an hour after I went to bed for my night’s sleep, I was awakened with inspiration to write this article.

As you would imagine, many of the people attending this event with either be in business or looking to start some kind of business. As I step on the stage to speak (maybe to you!), I want to make sure that I am in full integrity about what it takes to create success, in this case, financial success.

That being said, let’s assume you do want to be in business and you’ve got enough money to start. Let’s also assume you are even willing to put in the hours, which will, without doubt, far exceed the hours you ever put in working a job. So let’s get into the real meat and spuds of it.

There is another cost that you will want to consider seriously before going into business. It’s a cost that will become more and more evident in the new economy.

Let me warn you: It’s a cost you must seriously weigh before you make a commitment.

As you can no doubt tell, there are still signs of the old-guard cut-throat, massively competitive business model around. It may even have legs for a little while longer, nonetheless, those legs are getting more and more wobbly by the moment.

The great news is, there is a new model for doing business that is emerging. It is a model that I believe will challenge the hell out of the old guard.

The new model is one rooted in The Three Cs of the new economy:

Cooperation, Collaboration, and Contribution.

And at the center of this new model is a theme that today’s generation will come to expect, the central and very necessary cog for doing business in the new economy, another very important C–Caring!

This isn’t the old corporate rhetoric of saying “We care.” No, what I’m talking about here is actually giving a shit about the people you do business with.

Social media, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the hundreds of other social media sites have changed the distance between people. They have allowed people who were vague icons off in the distance to become people you can reach out to in as little as 140 characters and surprisingly they will, and most often do reach back.

Today’s rock, pop, and movie stars are made through the relationships they build on-line. Tomorrow’s business will be built in just the same way. (It’s already happening!)

So when you ask me: “What is the cost of doing business?” I’ll tell you…

“It’s 1:43a.m. right now, on a work day, and I’m writing this to YOU, yes YOU! Why? Because I genuinely give a shit!

The real cost of doing business today is that you must genuinely give a shit about your customers, you must treat them with the respect of being people rather than ‘buying units.’”

Bottom Line:

“If you don’t want to be relational, then you, my friend, no matter how much money you have, cannot afford the cost of doing business today!”

Does this make sense to you?

Here’s an example.  “The 5 Foundations of Building Wealth From The Inside Out” is an eBook I wrote. People have found great value in it.  One of  those foundations for being truly successful is that you must be genuinely relational. If you think it’s a marketing phase, think again…

Keep this in mind.

You have to be willing to do what it takes to show someone you genuinely care, even if there is nothing in it for you.

Yes, I’m giving it to you for FREE, (it sells on Amazon for $47). It’s a great example of what I’m talking about. Look, even if you have previously bought it and you’ve already read it, let me suggest that you read it again. Everything has changed in the new economy and I think you’ll discover that what that book says is even more relevant than when I wrote it some years ago.

Make no mistake, I’ve had 25+ years in business, and I’ve seen a lot of changes. Some of those changes have been in my inner world. For instance, in 1990 I fell off a mountain and got smashed to pieces. Then about five years ago, something else changed that was indefinable to me. However, I knew both myself and my industry had changed forever.

Hang on, I’ll explain… At that time I was working with a consultant who was always trying to get me to be distant from my students, clients and customers. I would regularly piss him off because I am all about relationships and so I would make myself available.

Needless to say, that chap and I parted ways. It was then when I re-emerged with a clean commitment:

Show people we care; always give them more than they expect while providing them with tons of value. Simply put–we will always let our customers, clients and students experience that we genuinely give a shit about them.

And that’s what it’s all about. In the new economy, the real cost of doing business is that you must be willing to be in relationship with your customers. You must be willing to genuinely give a shit.

My question to you, dear reader, and everyone you know who has in some way interacted with us is this:  Do you get it that I (Dov Baron) and  my company Baron Mastery Institute genuinely care about you… that we genuinely give a shit?

I posted a status on FaceBook that got some very interesting responses.

If you are on Facebook I’m sure you’ll agree that Facebook in its self is a rather fascinating ‘place’ or phenomena.

Originally, when certain people tried to get me on FB, I was resistant and now I have many thousands of  ‘friends’. However, the question I have is do our FB ‘friends’ really know us? Do they even care about who we are, what matters to us, or even what we do?

When I posed the original question on FB so many of my  FB ‘friends’ shared wonderful kind words that touched my heart. I am so grateful to those who replied to my FB status question… I feel enormously honoured to be seen by you all and I deeply value our relationship. What was fascinating was that there were many people who I feel I know well who did not write anything, (of course they may never have seen my question). Just as surprising were all the wonderful comments I got from people I did not even know.

Many years ago I gave a presentation on: “Friends, when to hold them, when to fold them.” I like to share with you a portion of that presentation and you can let me know what you think and feel.

We have all heard people speak of ‘fair weather friends’. These are the people who are your friend in good times…

It is said that when you hit hard times ‘fair weather friends’ will move out faster than bugs from a burning mattress. Clearly it makes sense that if a friend is only there for the good times this isn’t much of a friend.

What I want to share with you are some other kinds of friends you may want to pay attention to, in particular ‘bad weather friends’. I know you’ve been told that real friends will stick with you in times of trouble, and although that is true there is a certain type of friend who is only really there for you in your bad times.

You can probably remember a time when you were in a crappy relationship and this particular friend was right there for you. They told you that s/he is a fool to let you go.  Or maybe you can remember a time when you were in serious financial ‘doo-doo’, and that certain friend was once again, right there for you, telling you that ‘they’ just don’t see your talents and skills. 

In fact the worse things get the closer this kind of friend is. I can almost hear you say; “well what’s wrong with that?”

It’s not that there is something wrong with it, in fact I would agree that a ‘real friend’ would be there for you in such times.  As much as I highly suggest that you be in full gratitude for those who are genuinely there for you in such times of challenge. That being said; we may want to examine this kind of relationship with at least the same level of inquiry as that of a ‘fair weather friend’.

In the case of a ‘fair weather friend’ it’s pretty easy to see why the person is your friend, but have you ever considered why a ‘bad weather friend’ might be hanging out? Just as you might notice a ‘fair weather friend’ fade into the distance during tough times, a ‘bad weather friend’ will disappear during the good times, (particularly if the good times last).

At this point you may be wondering why a ‘bad weather friend’ would go away in good times, well the answer may surprise you. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying:

Misery Loves Company!

There will always be these type of people in your life because at either a conscious or unconscious level they find that you being in the crapper allows them to feel better about themselves.

A ‘bad weather friend’ is incredibly supportive when you are down however, when you are up, you are seen as a threat. They may even use the kind of language that will tell you what kind of friend they really are.  If they say:  “when you become successful, find a lover, get promoted, (or any other kind of status change) you won’t want to be around me anymore.” This is the language of a ‘bad weather friend’.

Good friends, real friends, are there for you in both the good and the bad times. When things are tough they will hold you and tell you what’s great about you. However, when you are wallowing they will kick your ass to get you going if that’s what it takes. This same good friend will be overjoyed for your success in any given area. They want the best for you even if it means that for you to be truly happy and fulfilled they could lose out.

Real friends want you to become all that you are at that soulful level of fulfilling your potential.

A real friend would rather walk away than support you playing small.

A real friend will lift you up so that you can describe the view ahead and in turn inspire them to go to the next level.

I said earlier that Misery Loves Company, well so does Joy! So…

Get yourself around those who are playing big in all areas, especially joy!

I am a blessed man in more ways than I can say here. However, one way I know this for certain is I am surrounded by “Real Friends”. Some I have known for years, some I have known for moments. Some are blood family, some are spiritual family. Some I have hugged and kissed with deep affection, some I know only via the electronic world of this blog, our members site at ResonanceCity.com, and some even through FaceBook , Twitter and YouTube.

However, we know each other, I thank you for being more than a ‘fair weather friend’ or a ‘bad weather friend’.

I am deeply grateful for each of you who lift me up upon your shoulders to shine a light out into the world.

I stopped you and asked if you trusted me?…You said you did.  Looking you in the eye and giving you all my attention, I said; Please remember that you are not alone, unless you make yourself alone. Reach out, there’s no shame in being in a difficult situation. The shame is to think we need to hide.

Until you begin making a shift to thinking, feeling and behaving in ways that are independent of the need to please others, you will never truly embrace following your heart and soul’s passion.  Furthermore, if you do not develop the kind of independence I’m referring to, you can be pretty certain that true wealth will also evade you.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting that you become some heartless ‘a-hole’ who doesn’t care about anyone. No, this is about understanding that when you begin to follow your path, recognize your unique value, and make decisions based on that, money and wealth will flow to you. Once this begins to happen you can also be fairly certain that you will, plain and simple begin to piss some folks off.

You are not alone, we, the hearts,  souls and minds dedicated to raising the consciousness of the planet are here for you and with you.

To create true abundance in your life you will need two broad spectrum things: An external process and an internal process.

Having an external experience of abundance is a direct result of living an internal experience of abundance.

However, we all know that to some degree that internal experience is also determined at least to some degree by the external experience . It goes something like this: Wealthy thinking/feeling, (internal) — Wealthy experiences , money and stuff, (external). Having the money and stuff gives us validation of experiencing abundance and in so doing creates the thinking and feeling, (internal again).

The thought process and feelings build within us , (internal) and add to our field attracting more of the external experiences that validate us , (external). Put simply:

Being leads to having and having leads to being.

It’s a loop . And so you see that you must have both experiences going on , because one feeds into the other over and over again. In this article I want to focus on you getting the external result because as far as I know I’ve already offered you the very best internal process: “The Equation for Manifestation” .

Okay back to the external experience of abundance : I have said on many occasions that real abundance is a lot more than money; in fact money is only one expression of wealth. Nonetheless, it is an important part of the whole experience.

If you want to create wealth in your life you have got to be able to recognize value . More specifically you must be able to recognize your own value.

If you are genuinely resonating from a place of abundance opportunities will present themselves to you at every turn. However, when those opportunities show up if you have nothing of value to offer why would anyone give you their money?

Money is an energetic medium of exchange!

Here’s the real secret to understanding and creating abundance: People buy energy, whether it’s your personal energy in the form of a service you offer or your energy expressed through the product you create. They are always buying your energy.

Nothing is ever bought or sold beyond the desire for an experience we hope that energy will bring.

Think about Starbucks™ when they started out they sold coffee at about four times the price of their competitors. Why did anyone pay so much for that cup of frothy coffee? The simple answer was because they were not and never have sold ‘coffee’. What they sell is the energy of what they call “The third place experience” .

Starbucks™ wants you to think of their store as the third place you’d hang out at, (first being home, second being work). The Starbucks™ ‘third place’ philosophy is that of the show ‘Cheers’, the place you can go where everyone knows your name and your beverage of choice. They want you to go there because they were building the energy of it being ‘your’ third place.

So that brings us to the big question: What do you have to offer?

What is the unique value you bring to the world that people will line up at your door to give you money for?

I f you don’t know the answer, it’s because you are blind, (as are most people) to your own gifts. Right now, get out a pen and paper and write down the names of 5 people who know you well. Now write down the names of 5 people who know you, but not that well .

Now make a commitment to call or meet with each of them over the next 7 days. (If you spread it out too far it’s easy to become disconnected from what was said). Ask each of them to be totally honest and tell you what they see as your greatest strength. Ask each of them to tell you what they see as your personal genius blind spot. Take down every word you hear even if you have no interest in pursuing it, even if you think the person is completely wrong or crazy.

Collect the data, sift through it, look for common themes and design a product or service around what came out of your survey. What you come up with will be an expression of your inner genius and that my friend is the energy they want and they will be banging your door down to give you their money to get.

Questions like: What explanation have you had for your life being the way it is?
Pause for a second, take a deep breath, and really consider that question.

I’m not only referring to the difficulties in your life, I’m also referring to where your life is fantastic. Let me clarify. I’m talking about all of it; your life as a package.

…Maybe you feel you are where you are due to fate. Maybe as you ask that question you hear a voice in your head that tells you, you are lucky; or unlucky. Do either of those statements truly serve as satisfactory explanations as to why your life is the way it is?

Maybe the way you see it is that you got to where you are in life through something called Karma; that God is some kind of mega-accountant in the sky who does yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily tallies of all your good and bad deeds (or was that Santa?). Then, this magnificent accounting god dishes out the luck, both good and bad, in accordance with what’s in your good/bad account.

Does this sound ludicrous to you? Great, now we’re on the same page.

If those reasons are not how you get what shows up in your life, then maybe this concept (which I’m sure you’ve heard before) is the correct one: “Let us create mankind in our own image.”

Over the last twenty plus years of teaching workshops, seminars and working with people one-on-one it has become very obvious that…

The outer circumstances of your life are a direct result of the inner state of your being.

One of the most important things you will ever learn about success, whatever that means to you, is that what’s going on inside your thoughts and feeling ends up showing up outside, in your reality.

We are not victims of circumstance…

We are both the one who manufacturers and experiences these circumstances.

No one magically finds themselves in a divorce court, a prison cell or having a bullet removed with it being a result of something that was going on within them.

These events are a direct result of all the beliefs, thoughts, emotions feelings and behaviors you have had up to that point. That doesn’t make you wrong or right, what it makes you is either paying attention or being ignorant of what’s been going on inside you. Either way, it’s your choice, it’s your result.

Let me ask you: When the door of 2009 opens will you be hiding in a corner afraid of what’s on the way? Will you be there with running shoes on ready to bolt into a new year? Or will you step over the line, feeling your foot come down into the certainty of where you will ride this Ox of a year, because you have, in advance, taken the time to decide the direction of your 2009 .

Almost everyone gets some level of excitement at the prospect of a New Year, (even if it’s just as a reprieve from the last one). However; entering into anything with merely “hope”, Is a lot less than a plan for success.

What are your Goals and New Year’s Resolutions for 2009 ?  Whether your goals and resolutions are in the areas of finances, health and fitness, career, or relationships, the question worth asking yourself is: Do you actually want to keep yours this year? What if there was a simpler, effortless way to do that?  What if it were as easy as listening to some CDs and writing down your goals? Would you do it?

Before you say it could not possibly be that easy, know this:

You’re Right!

It doesn’t matter how many times you put my Resonating Riches CD program , or EFM Audio Technology or for that matter any program into the CD player, just listening is not ever going to be enough!

But part of what gets in the way of people’s success is that they come to believe that accomplishing goals has to be hard, it has to hurt . However, as thousands have experienced before you, with the right guidance, nothing could be further from the truth.

I want to help you keep your resolutions this year and avoid the disillusion that comes from setting half-assed goals and resolutions that don’t really matter, and in fact stand in the way of your complete authentic and joyous success.

As I spoke about in my last post; it’s important to pay attention to our rituals . Much of what we do, we do ritualistically. We do things over and over again and we do them to invoke an outcome . Whether that outcome is a change in our mind state that leads to a hangover or one that leads to greater and greater levels of success , all rituals are about invoking a “preferred state change” either within ourselves or our reality.

There are personal and societal rituals that we make personal. One of those society rituals has been to set “New Years Resolutions .” The purpose of which has been to invoke a “preferred state change” either within ourselves or our reality.

Sadly, all too often many people think that their looks, talents and simply making the resolution will be enough to propel them to higher ground. All too often these are the people whose ”wishful thinking” will have them do little more than splutter over the starter line.

The fact is: Nothing is more common than unsuccessful individuals brimming with talent.

If you have ever set a New Years Resolution or you know people who have, you are probably wondering: Why do so many people fail when it comes to fulfilling their New Years Resolutions?

The #1Reason: First and foremost without even realizing it… Most people are setting goals and making resolutions that are not their own!

I can not make this more simple and I know it seems obvious: Whatever goals or resolutions you set for 2009 make sure they are your own!

Quite simply, take a minute or two and really question your goals and your resolutions… Are they really about you, (who you really are)?  Or are they the goals and resolutions you are setting in order to be liked a little more by your brothers, sisters, friends, bosses, peers, or even mom and dad?

(By the way, to your ego mind approval is golden, so anyone’s will do).

The fact is, anyone can come up with a set of goals and resolutions that sound right. But it’s worth checking with yourself to truly find out if they are goals and resolutions aimed at getting approval rather than truly making you happy.

If you are unconsciously setting goals or resolutions that are not in resonance with who you really are, you are likely to find a way to not reach them or at the very least sabotage the process of reaching them.

See for yourself..: A few years ago I was working with a guy we’ll call Paul. Paul at that time was a successful corporate Vice President , who had a goal to buy a particular model of a new Mercedes .

I helped him to get absolutely clear on the specifics of what he wanted: model, year, color of both the exterior and interior and many other details that would make it absolutely real for him. By the time we were done, he could describe the exact sound the air made as it left when the car door closed.

Paul’s ’goal’ was to get the car by March 1st. This was something that was a stretch, but with everything in place it was definitely doable.  March 1st came and went, as did the entire month, and then April and May. When I asked him why he thought he had not manifested what he wanted, he gave me a long list of what he called ‘reasons’ and I called ‘excuses’.

My statement to him was that ‘it’ (the car), clearly didn’t matter enough to him. If it did, he would have done whatever it took to have gotten the car. Paul wanted to argue about it, until I asked him the question I’m now asking you:

Who’s approval do you make up you will get by achieving this goal?

It was like I’d slapped Paul in the face with a wet cod . He was stunned by the list of names that fell out of his mouth. There was a guy at work who had made a snide comment about how he thought Paul was doing better than to be driving what he was presently driving. There was his dad, who had always wanted a Mercedes but had never been able to afford one. There was even some woman he had the hots for ten years ago; she thought Mercedes were sexy.

Do you get it?

Sure, Paul ‘liked’ Mercedes and he certainly wouldn’t mind driving one. But, in truth, there was no genuine passion there ; it was not something that mattered enough to him. The reason Paul didn’t manifest what he ‘desired’ was there was no personal juice to fuel what it would take to bring that thing into his life.

Paul, like most people, had unconsciously set a goal that was more about ‘what other people would think’ than it was about what he truly, soulfully wanted .

If you’re on a few “Self-Help” lists, you’re probably getting a lot of input on how to ‘properly’ set goals for 2009 . I am sure they are all full of great stuff, but here are the basics: It is important to have a goal written down. Goals in your head tend to mutate into things that, A) we will never reach or B) we’ll just settle for.

“Don’t Just Think It, Ink It!”

Listen, this coming year, I predict , will be a defining year for so many people. I believe It will be a year where you will need a better plan, more commitment and a heck of a lot more flexibility . For that reason it is equally important to make your goals and resolutions totally and absolutely have deep personal meaning . When you make that goal or resolution, be specific!

Go into the details , get all your senses involved … What would it look like , sound like, smell like, taste like, feel like to touch , and most important of all what would it feel like, to have ‘it’ in your life?

Whether it’s a goal or a resolution, ask yourself:
• What would my life look like having met this goal/resolution?
• Having met this goal/resolution what do I hear around me?
• What do I smell?
• What is the taste in my mouth?
• What am I touching now that lets me know I have fulfilled my resolution?
• What does it feel like to know I have become what I have resolved to become?

Now that I’ve given you some of the reasons why so many people fail at achieving their goals , let’s get into the next powerful tip that makes achieving your goals and resolutions a certainty:

Take out a sheet of paper, (I find there is a deeper emotional connection when we write by hand).

Write down as many reasons as you can about “why” you deeply want this specific goal or resolution.

What is it that makes having this in your life so important to you?

If you can’t get emotionally charged by what it is you are going for, chances are you will find a way to NOT get it!

It is this directed emotion that sets up the quantum resonance wave that draws to you every opportunity to fulfill your desire . The drive to keep going, to accomplish your goal or resolution is not in the thing itself, it’s the “reasons why” that will power you through the obstac les, (and there will be obstacles, make no mistake).

So, whether it’s personal , business , health, relationship , make the goal specific, and emotionally charged , because that’s what creates compelling goals that pull you towards what you want and what you want towards you!

So having gone through this Resolution Blueprint let me ask you to remember:

Whatever you dream of having in life… more money, more romantic and fun relationships, a booming business or fulfilling career… whatever it is… start your journey today toward making your New Years Resolutions and Goals a reality in 2009.

Take out your pen and paper and begin applying what I’ve given you in this blueprint that Makes Achieving Your Goals and resolutions a Certainty .

Is it possible to live a life that is Happy, Abundant and Successful in a time of “recession” or is that just a ‘new age’/Pollyanna form of denial?

To answer that question we would have to know what success is.  Is success measured by a better car, bigger home, more stuff?

I’m pretty sure that that if your reading this blog then you are likely to be the kind of person who would say “of course not”. However, you live in this world of ‘stuff’: So is there anything wrong with having stuff?

Right now take a moment, really let this soak in and see how it feels to you:

Stuff is stuff, it’s nothing more than stuff until you attach a feeling/meaning to it.

If you make more ‘stuff’ the only way for you to know you have success, then you become attached to the stuff because without it you will see yourself as a failure. This of course will bring up all kinds of fears and as I said in a previous posting “fear is a powerful force for manifestation”.

Here what you will want to let in: “We are not separate from each other“ this is not a theoretical ideology, it a fact proven time and again in the field of quantum mechanics. We, you, me, all of us contribute to a collective consciousness that in turn feeds back into each and everyone of us.  As separate as we tell ourselves we are, we are in fact: community.

Therefore if you want abundance, (please excuse my graphic metaphor) but… if you want abundance to flow into your life: Don’t pee into the drinking water!

Just like there is a constantly connected ecology to the resources of this planet that says if we pollute the water it effects everything that takes in that water. Every plant and insect that lives on the plants and every animal that lives on the plants and insects is affected and in turn whether we are aware of it or not so are we.

Just like that ecological cycle works in an up and down manner, there is also an ecology of consciousness… Every time we pollute the field of consciousness that we are all connected to with our anger, frustrations, hate and LACK,  we feed the quantum equivalent of toxic waste into the quantum field and the biggest of all emotional, mental toxic waste is the one all the others are disguising… FEAR.

So ask yourself if you are in the business of manufacturing fear for the mental emotional consumption. If not, you might want to think about what you truly want to be adding to the quantum pool we all mentally and emotionally drinking from.

I believe it was Franklin D Roosevelt who said: “We have nothing to fear but fear its self”

Fear is what puts us in recession. The more fear we run the more we close down the flow of abundance. This lack mentality pours into the quantum field that we all mentally and emotionally consume.

So my friends I say to you, think again, I challenge you to; think of all the abundance you already have in all its forms rather than just the form of stuff and return to gratitude.

Fear Is The Dream Killer…

and no economic ‘situation’ is worth your dreams. Live a life that is to be envied not for its stuff, but for its passion, its undying belief that “it is possible” and that you were the one who showed others that out on the limb is where the fruit is sweetest.
